The state of Berlin

The Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing, together with its urban development agency WISTA.Plan GmbH, is responsible for developing the site and establishing the legal planning framework. In addition, land is being provided for public infrastructure, and state-owned commercial spaces are being marketed. degewo AG, Berlin’s leading municipal housing company, is constructing and delivering around 450 publicly subsidised rental apartments within the quarter, along with the streets that open up the development. Further plans include a new neighbourhood centre (Kieztreff), as well as playgrounds and community facilities.
