At the heart of the neighbourhood

Orville enjoys a prominent position on the quarter square, with the fresh food market and neighbourhood centre right on its doorstep. The building forms part of the identity-defining ensemble that reflects the site’s historical character. A café on the ground floor and the open courtyard garden extend the building into an urban residential oasis full of atmosphere.

Innovative spirit by Pätzold Architekten

Orville was designed by the Berlin-based practice of architect Christopher Pätzold, which has been realising residential, hotel and commercial buildings for more than 30 years. Constructed using sustainable timber panel construction, Orville offers a healthy indoor climate and flexible floor plans – while also impressing with a striking architectural language shaped by the combination of a natural stone plinth and a lively façade design.

Orville Wright

Orville Wright (1871–1948), together with his brother Wilbur Wright, was one of the pioneers of modern aviation. In 1903, he completed the world’s first powered flight. Through his flight demonstrations – including appearances in Germany – he left a lasting mark on the early history of aviation.

Green courtyard

A carefully landscaped courtyard invites residents to relax and children to play. Free from cars and open towards the south, it remains visually and spatially connected to the wider quarter.
