Side by side with Arthur

Surrounded by the listed Fliegervilla, the neighbourhood centre and Arthur, the smaller three-storey building Thekla rests like a quiet witness within the defining architectural ensemble of Segelflieger Quartier. The fresh food market in the Fliegerhalle and several public transport connections are only a few steps away.

A statement building by gmp Architekten

Few buildings within the quarter evoke the site’s industrial heritage as clearly as Thekla. Designed by gmp Architekten – one of Europe’s most renowned architectural practices – the building recalls the hangars and workshops that once stood here through its scale, brick façade and distinctive barrel-shaped roof.

Thekla Müller

Thekla Müller (1873–1953) was the wife of entrepreneur Arthur Müller and came from a Jewish family in Coburg. Following the expropriation of her assets during the Nazi era, she emigrated to the United States in 1941, where she lived until her death.
