Segelflieger Quartier Berlin x Sportfreunde Johannisthal 1930 e.V.
BAUWERT at the MLP Main Seminar 2026
Today, as project developers and builders, we are delighted to be present as partners at the joint stand of DI Deutschland.Immobilien AG in Hall 1 | Stand 94. On site, our Senior Project Developer Nicole Kruse-Zierold and Sales Expert Amelie Wellenbrock will provide insights into our current neighbourhood development, the “Segelflieger Quartier Berlin.”
The focus is on the upcoming launch of the residential project “Orville,” featuring 173 owner-occupied apartments and 163 fully furnished micro-apartments – a project that combines urban living, forward-thinking planning, and attractive investment opportunities.
Groundbreaking Ceremony: Residential Buildings “Arthur” and “Thekla”
As the first project developer on the 21-hectare site, BAUWERT AG will start construction on the two residential projects—Arthur (146 rental apartments) and Thekla (36 rental apartments)—by the end of the year.
The ceremonial event was attended by the entire BAUWERT AG executive board, Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, Senator for Urban Development, Building and Housing Christian Gaebler, as well as Treptow-Köpenick District Mayor Oliver Igel. During the subsequent panel discussion, project partners including WISTA, degewo, and the architectural offices gmp Architects and Stefan Forster Architects also shared their perspectives.
The Antonov AN-2 has landed
nce a civil transport plane, it now serves as a tribute to the history of the old Johannisthal airfield.
You can now admire the Antonov in its new Segelflieger Quartier design at Segelfliegerdamm. The “Antonov Biplane AN-2” was built in 1967 and comes from Poland, where it flew for the Leszno Training Centre.
The painting process went through several stages—from cleaning to multiple layers of paint. We are excited to finally share the results with you!
A day where teamwork became a home
Last week, our project development and project management teams experienced a very special team event: together with Little Homes e.V., we constructed a Tiny House, “Little Home 2.0.” This small home will soon provide a homeless person with security and shelter.
For us, it was more than just a hands-on project. We experienced first-hand how much can be achieved when many hands work together, and how teamwork can create something tangible in a very short time. Every action—sawing, screwing, assembling—helped put a roof over someone’s head.
The project reflects what matters most at BAUWERT AG:
-
Taking Responsibility – not only in our construction projects, but also towards society.
-
Living Quality – with care, precision, and a commitment to sustainable solutions.
-
Building Community – within our team and beyond.
The Tiny House may be small in size, but it is huge in impact. It stands for hope, opportunity, and a chance for a fresh start. We sincerely thank Little Homes e.V. for the inspiring collaboration and our team for their fantastic effort.
“10 Exemplary Conversions of Historic Architecture in Berlin”
We’re delighted that our largest neighbourhood development to date, Segelflieger Quartier Berlin, is featured in ENTWICKLUNGSSTADT in the article “Sustainable Urban Development – 10 Exemplary Conversions of Historic Architecture in Berlin.”
A Successful Kick-Off
On 11 September 2024, the State of Berlin and BAUWERT officially launched one of the capital’s largest neighbourhood development projects: Segelflieger Quartier Berlin in Johannisthal/Adlershof.
Together with Berlin’s Senator for Urban Development Christian Gaebler, Treptow-Köpenick District Mayor Oliver Igel, WISTA and WISTA.Plan CEO Roland Sillmann, and degewo board member Sandra Wehrmann, BAUWERT founder and CEO Dr. Jürgen Leibfried presented BAUWERT’s largest neighbourhood development to date in a panel discussion attended by the press and around 150 guests. Afterwards, the panel participants jointly unveiled the outdoor gallery, offering a first glimpse of the brand’s visual identity.
Chimney Demolition Followed by a Get-Together
In a significant step for the construction project, the chimney of the former heating plant was successfully demolished. This was a key part of the site clearance, which is currently in full swing.
The chimney, which had been heavily damaged over the years, had to be removed as part of safety measures for the project. The demolition was carefully prepared by the responsible blasting expert to ensure a safe execution. Its successful removal marks an important milestone for the Segelfliegerdamm development.
The decision to demolish the chimney was part of a targeted effort to prepare the site for the upcoming construction phases. Removing the heavily damaged structure creates space for future development and highlights a clear focus on sustainable progress.
BAUWERT took the opportunity to bring together project partners and employees to celebrate this milestone. Following strict safety precautions, a small company gathering was held after the demolition.
